Who writes the guides
Guides on this site are written and checked by the Bollinger Strategy editorial team. We publish under the team name rather than a personal byline. The team is responsible for every number on the page, and corrections go through the same review as new guides.
Where the data comes from
- Candles and funding rates come from OKX’s public market API. We use completed candles only, because the latest candle can still change.
- Times are given in UTC and refer to the candle’s open, unless a chart says otherwise.
- Bollinger Bands use a simple moving average and the population standard deviation of closes. BandWidth is (upper − lower) ÷ middle band, following John Bollinger’s definition ↗.
- Screenshots of the market chart are captured on the date stated in the caption.
How a guide is checked
- The raw data and the calculation script are archived before writing starts.
- Every figure in the text is recalculated from that archive by a second reviewer before publication.
- Each guide includes cases where the indicator did not work. A rule shown with a single chart is not enough.
- Sample sizes are stated. We do not publish annualized returns or projected profits.
- Results that ignore fees, funding or slippage are labeled as such.
Software, including AI tools, may help with calculation and drafting. It does not replace the recalculation and review steps above.
What the guides do not do
The guides describe what happened in past market data. They are not trade recommendations, and nothing on this site places orders for you. Perpetual futures use leverage, and losses can be larger than expected. Read risk and data use before relying on any chart.
Corrections
If a number does not match your own data, contact us with the instrument, timeframe and candle time. We check the archived data. If we got it wrong, we correct the page and change the date it was updated.
